site.btaBulgarian Community in Frankfurt Holds Discussion Meeting with Former Ambassador Plugchieva, BTA Director General

A discussion meeting was held for the Bulgarian community in Frankfurt on Thursday about Bulgaria joining the eurozone, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release Friday. The meeting was held within the Programme for Countering Disinformation and Combating Fake News and was organized by the Bulgarian Consulate General in Frankfurt. 

In the first part of the discussion, former ambassador to Germany Meglena Plugchieva spoke about the pros and cons of Bulgaria's expected accession to the euro area. In the second part, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev talked about "BTA - the Real News for Bulgarians Abroad." The subsequent discussion gave the opportunity for open dialogue and exchange of opinions.

The meeting continued longer than scheduled, which proved that such initiatives are extremely important for Bulgarians abroad as they unite as well as make Bulgarians feel part of what is happening in their home country, the press release reads.
