Metropolitans Nicholas of Plovdiv and Anthony of Western and Central Europe are paying a visit to the United Arab Emirates, the Bulgarian Patriarchiate said.

With the blessing of Patriarch John X of Antioch and by decision of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church - Bulgarian Patriarchate, the first Holy Liturgy in Bulgarian will be celebrated in the Greek Orthodox Church of Our Lady of Annunciation" in Jebel Ali, Dubai at 10 am on June 15.

About 3,000 Bulgarians live in Dubai, who, through the Bulgarian Embassy in the UAE, expressed their desire to establish a Bulgarian church community a year and a half ago.

On the official delegation are Bulgarian Ambassador to UAE Ivan Yordanov, Archimandrite Maxim, Priest Oeconomus Alexander Georgiev, Protodeacon Ilian Alexandrov and singers from the Apostle Hermas Metropolitan Choir.
