On May 25, the Odesa Festival of Bulgarian Culture took place, dedicated to the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education.

The Bulgarian event is part of the Odesa's cultural programme, titled  "Odessa : Intercultural Port in Ukraine", in a city that accepts and supports all cultures and ethnicity, observes the principles of mutual respect, as well as respect for diversity and the common values of freedom, democracy, social integration and equal opportunities for everyone.

Eight Bulgarian folk ensembles from Odesa and Bessarabia took part in the event.

The festival was held with the support of the BTA National Press Club in Odesa. Issues of BTA's LIK magazine were presented to Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov and to citizens. 

As a sign of gratitude, the BTA Press Club in the city  received a certificate from the organizers of the Odessa Municipal Theater of Wind Music. to the Odessa City Council.

There are over 150,000 Bulgarians in Odesa Province, including between 50,000 and 60,000 in the regional capital Odesa. The largest compact groups of Bulgarians outside the city of Odesa are in the towns of Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
