LA City Council Marks 120th Anniversary of USA-Bulgaria Diplomatic Relations

On the occasion of 120 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the United States, Bulgarian Consul General in Los Angeles Boyko Hristov received an official certificate at an open session of the Los Angeles City Council. The document notes the lasting friendship, mutual respect and cooperation thriving between the two peoples over the years, the Bulgarian Consulate General in Los Angeles told BTA. 

The certificate also notes the importance of the Bulgarian diaspora in LA and the essential role of the Bulgarian diplomatic representation in promoting the cultural exchange and strengthening the ties of friendship between the two peoples, who together strive for global peace, security, and prosperity.

The document, issued at the Consul General's initiative, was presented to him by Traci Park, LA City Councilwoman and friend of the Bulgarian community. At the ceremony, Hristov was accompanied by notable Bulgarians in LA, including representatives of the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox church St George, the Bulgarian Foundation for Arts, Culture, and Education (BgFACE), the Bulgarian-American Cultural and Educational Foundation (BACEF), and other members of the Bulgarian diaspora.
