The musicians from the Bulgarian trio Jazz x 3 will stage a concert at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute (BCI) in Berlin on December 8. The event is part of the Institute's Jazz Club project and will start at 7 pm local time. "This trio was born out of the deep artistic and personal friendship between Mihail Yossifov, Angel Zaberski and Boris Taslev," Berlin's BCI Director Borislav Petranov told BTA's BG World section.

The musicians have already performed several times in Germany.

Angel Zaberski is a pianist, composer, arranger and lecturer in improvisation at New Bulgarian University in Sofia.

Mihail Yossifov is a trumpeter, composer, arranger and professor of trumpet at the Department of Pop and Jazz Art of the State Music Academy Prof. Pancho Vladigerov, as well as the leader of the Big Band of the University. "He is one of the most successful contemporary Bulgarian musicians. He is one of the most sought-after musicians in Bulgaria, not only for studio recordings and concert performances, often as a guest soloist of various formations and orchestras, but also for composing original music and for arranging various pieces," the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin said.

Among the musicians he has played with are Mike Stern, Dave Weckl, Mezzoforte, De-Phazz, Peter Herbolzheimer, Karen Bernod, Randy Brecker, Michel Camilo, and Patti Austin.  In the summer of 2014 Yossifov was invited to join the tour of the American band Pink Martini and he has been part of not only the European tours of the formation, but also participated in their concerts on some of the biggest world stages since then.

"Boris Taslev (bass) is a musician well known on the Bulgarian scene. He graduated from the State Music Academy Prof. Pancho Vladigerov in Sofia," the Cultural Institute added.
