Bulgaria's Ambassador in Serbia Petko Doykov and representatives of the Bulgarian Embassy in Belgrade attended the opening of an exhibition held during the 11th International Art Plein Air Workshop dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the settlement of Slovaks in the village of Belo Blato, located in Serbia's Central Banat District. 

According to the Bulgarian Embassy, the event was attended by representatives of Zrenjanin Municipality, the National Council of Slovaks in Serbia and local residents. 

Bulgarian artists Gabriela Zhekova, Vasilka Sotirova, Robert Nikolov and Ainur Kaplan also participated in the exhibition.

Banat Bulgarians live in the village of Belo Blato, along with Hungarians, Slovaks and Serbs. In recent years, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria has been supporting various initiatives of the local Bulgarians to preserve their cultural identity.

Arists Gabriela Zhekova, Vasilka Sotirova and Robert Nikolov later visited the Bulgarian Embassy in Belgrade. At the working meeting with the representatives of the Embassy, ideas for the development of cooperation between the cultural circles from Bulgaria and Serbia were discussed.
