A Southeastern European summit will be held in Dubrovnik, Croatia in October to discuss support for Ukraine and its territorial integrity, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic wrote in his profile on the social network X on September 11 after the International Crimea Platform (ICP) Summit in Kyiv earlier in the day, the HINA news agency reported.
Plenkovic said Croatia supports the ICP, in which the country "has played an active role". He recalled that Zagreb hosted the First ICP Parliamentary Summit in 2022.
On Wednesday, Plenkovic arrived on an unannounced visit to Ukraine and met with the country's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
Writing on X, Zelenskyy thanked Croatia for supporting Ukraine and for announcing its 11th military aid package for Kyiv. Zelenskyy and Plenkovic discussed humanitarian demining, postwar reconstruction and energy infrastructure restoration, the host said.
The ICP was created in 2021 on Ukrainian President Zelenskyy's initiative to raise the effectiveness of the international response to Russia's annexation of Crimea, look for ways to address the growing security challenges, prevent further violations of human rights and ensure protection for the victims.
