Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov held a videoconference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday, the Council of Ministers said on Facebook. The two discussed security in the Black Sea Region in the context of Russia's aggression against Kyiv.
Denkov stressed Bulgaria's firm support for Ukraine and the friendly relations between the two countries, which were witnessed during Zelenskyy's visit to Sofia this past July, the Council of Ministers said.
For his part, Zelenskyy highlighted Kyiv's efforts to ensure global food security by creating an alternative export corridor. He also briefed the Bulgarian Prime Minister on the situation on the front line and the urgent needs of the Ukrainian defence forces, the government said.
In his daily address late on October 31, Zelenskyy said: "Ukraine's success in the battle for the Black Sea is something that will be in the history books, although not as often discussed now."
