Passengers of RSV 421 Get Safety Instructions ahead of Departure from Mar del Plata

The passengers of the Bulgarian navy research vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii (NAVAL RSV 421) Sunday received special safety instructions by the ship’s Commanding Officer, Commander Nikolay Danailov, Merchant Captain Kiril Marinov, and Flotilla Admiral Boyan Mednikarov, Rector of the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy in Varna (on the Black Sea).

The polar researchers and journalists aboard were instructed about the forthcoming journey to the Bulgarian Antarctic base on Livingston Island. Unfavourable weather conditions are forecast for the coming days, therefore the ship will try to avoid problematic zones. The passengers were warned to mostly prepare mentally for what is to come.

NAVAL RSV 421 is scheduled to depart from Mar del Plata, her second stopover on her way to Livingston Island, at 3 pm local time (8 pm Bulgarian time). At the Argentinian port, the ship was supplied with provisions, food products, fuel, and water.
