Speaking at an open meeting in Blagoevgrad (Southwestern Bulgaria), Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) party leader Radostin Vassilev Thursday said Bulgaria is incredibly short of justice. "I am talking about simple rules, simple equality, and when people at the lowest level see that everything is unfair, they distance themselves from their country," he said.

The public's distrust of politicians makes people suspect every party's action of corruption, fraud, lust for positions and power, he said, and recalled that people were united by a great desire for justice during the protests in 2020.

Vassilev told reporters before the meeting that Blagoevgrad is a bit different: backstage interests have troubled local people for a very long time and the meeting is about what the party will do in terms of security and justice. "The truth is that unless Bulgaria shakes off its dependence on [GERB leader Boyko] Borisov and [Movement for Rights and Freedoms leader Delyan] Peevski in the next couple of years, it does not matter what reforms we will make - they are impossible," he said.

The party leader said MECh prioritizes five sectors: energy, agriculture, education, healthcare, and home affairs and security.
