GERB leader Boyko Borissov visited Burgas on Wednesday as part of the party's election campaign. He pointed out that main topic surrounding the elections has become who will be Prosecutor General and the head of the counter-corruption commission, instead of having a prime minister and a cabinet. He argued that everyone except GERB is interested in that just so they can deal with political opponents.
Borisov also emphasized that his party needs more MPs in order to ensure the safety of Bulgaria in terms of the migrant influx. One of the reasons that there are currently illegal migrants in the country is that "there is no will, no discipline, no order, unlike during our time", he stated, adding that the European Commission accepted his idea of creating outsourced centres for migrants outside the EU.
"I like to see how behind me a bare meadow becomes a road, a hospital, a hall", Borisov pointed out. He said campaigning in Burgas feels like an insult to him, reminding how his party "built Trakia motorway" and a bridge in Sozopol Municipality. He promised that the children's hospital in Burgas, which is currently being built, will also be completed.
