site.btaTsvetelina Georgieva Qualifies for Main Draw of European Individual Table Tennis Championships, Yoan Velichkov Secures Place in Play-offs

Bulgarian Tsvetelina Georgieva Wednesday qualified for the main draw of European Individual Table Tennis Championships in Linz, Austria. She recorded a 3-1 victory over Reelica Hanson (Estonia), her third win in the qualifying rounds which secured her the first place in Group 11.

In the men's competition, Yoan Velichkov scored a second victory after a 3-0 win against Ivik Nielsen (Greenland) and with two wins in two matches finished first in Group 20, guaranteeing a place in the play-offs for the main draw.

The other two Bulgarians in the qualifications, Viktoria Persova and Maria Yovkova, dropped out after conceding two losses each. Vladimir Petkov was also eliminated after two defeats.

In the men's doubles qualifications, Velichkov and Petkov started with a convincing 3-0 success over Ivik Nielsen and Rune Schultz (Greenland), and will meet Spaniards Rafael De Las Heras and Juan Perez in the decisive match for entry into the main draw on Wednesday.
