The weather in mountains will be cloudy with light wind, the Mountain Rescue Service at the Bulgarian Red Cross reported on Wednesday morning. Rain and fog are expected, which is why hikers are advised to avoid long walks.

According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, the sky over the mountains will be overcast, with light rain over the central parts of the Balkan mountain range and the mountains in southwestern Bulgaria. Light snow on the highest peaks of Rila and Pirin. Mild to moderate east-northeasterly wind in the lower parts, west-northwesterly in the higher parts. Highs: 16C at 1,200 m, 10C at 2,000 m.
