Lia Karatancheva, Bulgaria's national player for the Billy Jean King Cup, advanced to the doubles final of the tennis tournament in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain on Friday. The hard courts tournament features a prize fund of USD 100,000.

Karatancheva and Diāna Marcinkēviča (Latvia) triumphed over top seeds Eden Silva (UK) and Valeriya Strakhova (Ukraine) in a thrilling match (3:6, 6:3, 12:10). The 80-minute contest ended with them saving four match points and securing the last three points to reach the final.

Karatancheva and Marcinkēviča will face against the winners of the match between Estelle Cascino (France)/Alexandra Eala (Philippines) and María Portillo Ramírez (Mexico)/Noelia Zeballos (Bolivia) on Saturday.

Karatancheva, at 20 years old, has two doubles trophies in her ITF career.
