site.btaBadminton: Stoeva Sisters Win Doubles Title at Olympic Qualification Event in Glasgow

Three-time European champions Stefani Stoeva and Gabriela Stoeva won the women's doubles title at the Scottish Open Badminton Championships in Glasgow, a qualification event for the 2024 Paris Olympic.

The top-seeded Bulgarian sisters scored four consecutive wins on their way to the gold medals. At Sunday's final, they came from a down position to defeat Japan's Maiko Kawazoe and Haruna Konishi 19-21 21-11 21-12 in 63 minutes.

Stefani said after the final: "We are very happy that we won, because we were in a tough period. It is great to become champions in this tournament. We are also glad that we had a good game and gave a decent performance."

In Glasgow, the sisters were accompanied by the head coach of Bulgaria's national badminton team, Petya Nedelcheva-Hranova.
