Deputy Sports Minister Holds Meeting with International Paralympic Committee Representative

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Prof. Daniela Dasheva held a meeting with Anna Derechi, Coordinator of Organisational Development Programmes at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the ministry said on Tuesday. Derechi is visiting Bulgaria in connection with the World Headquarters Support Programme, whose main objective is to train national Paralympic committees on how to apply good governance principles, how to apply for funding and how to implement IPC programmes.

Derechi announced that this year the IPC will provide grants to 73 countries to organise education programmes, sporting events and festivals.

Deputy Minister Dasheva said that the Bulgarian Paralympic Association is actively working and familiarised Derechi with the successes of Bulgarian athletes. The meeting was also attended by the President of the Bulgarian Paralympic Association Ilia Lalov.
