The World Rowing Championship for men and women under 23 was officially opened in Plovdiv on Tuesday. The ceremony at the Summer Theatre was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria Maria Gabriel, Minister of Youth and Sports Dimitar Iliev, Deputy Mayor of Plovdiv Georgi Tityukov, President of the Bulgarian Rowing Federation Svilen Neykov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Championships Ivan Popov, Patrick Rombaut - member of the Executive Committee of the International Rowing Federation, as well as representatives of the countries that will take part in the Championship.
