Representatives of the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) answered questions from residents of Vetovo about the adoption of the euro in Bulgaria during an information meeting in the northeastern town on Tuesday. The meeting was part of a nationwide awareness-raising campaign for the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria.
It was attended by Pavel Krastev and Nevena Dimitrova from the territorial department of the CPC in Ruse, as well as Stoyanka Varbanova, Head of the Customer Services Department at the NRA office in Ruse.
Pavel Krastev from the Bulgarian Confederation of Labour told BTA at the end of the meeting that he regretted that there were no business representatives at the event. "They should be the active party in applying pricing rules", he pointed out.
Stoyanka Varbanova from the NRA office in Ruse said that after October 8, the revenue agency will fine traders who fail to print on cash receipts the total value of every purchase in both leva and euro and the exchange rate. NRA inspectors will also impose fines for unjustified increases in the prices of goods and services.
