According to preliminary data released by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) in February 2025, the monthly inflation rate in Bulgaria, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 0.6%, while the annual inflation rate was 4.0%. The inflation rate is measured by the CPI, with monthly inflation referring to the month of February 2025 compared to the previous month, and annual inflation for February 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year.

In February 2025, compared to the previous month, the highest increase was registered in the following groups: Communications by 2.3%, Alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 1.0%, Restaurants and hotels by 0.9%, Recreation and culture by 0.9%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.8%, Transportation by 0.6%, Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.6%, Healthcare by 0.4%, Education by 0.4%, and Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.3%.

A decrease in the prices of goods and services was recorded in the groups: Clothing and footwear by 2.1% and Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house by 0.1%.

In February 2025, the monthly inflation rate was 0.6% and the annual inflation rate in February 2025, compared to February 2024, was 4.0%. The inflation rate from the beginning of the year (February 2025 compared to December 2024) was 2.6%, and the annual average inflation rate for the period March 2024 - February 2025 compared to the period March 2023 - February 2024 was 2.5%.

The accumulated inflation, measured by CPI, for the last three years - February 2025 compared to February 2022 - was 24.7% and for the last five years - February 2025 compared to February 2020 - was 37.1%.

According to the final data of the NSI, in January 2025, the monthly inflation rate was 2.0% compared to the previous month, and the annual inflation rate in January 2025 compared to January 2024 was 3.8%.

In February 2025, the monthly inflation rate, measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), was 0.4% and the annual inflation rate in February 2025 compared to February 2024 was 3.9%. The inflation rate from the beginning of the year (February 2025 compared to December 2024) was 2.2%, and the annual average inflation rate for the period March 2024 - February 2025 compared to the period March 2023 - February 2024 was 2.6%.

The accumulated inflation, measured by HICP, for the last three years - February 2025 compared to February 2022 - was 22.3% and for the last five years - February 2025 compared to February 2020 - was 32.9%.

In February 2025, a price increase of 0.6%, measured by the Price Index of a Small Basket (PISB), was registered on a monthly basis, and since the beginning of the year, there was a price increase of 3.7%. In February 2025, compared to the previous month, the prices of goods and services in the small basket for 20% of households with the lowest income changed as follows: Food products - an increase of 1.1%; Services - an increase of 0.1%; Non-food products - an increase of 0.1%.

According to the final data of the NSI, in January 2025, a price increase of 3.1%, measured by the PISB, was registered on a monthly basis.
