Bulgargaz has proposed to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) that the natural gas price for November be set at BGN 68.49/MWh, the state-owned company said on Monday. The proposed price represents a 7.49% increase over the current rate.

For October, the EWRC has set the price at which Bulgargaz will supply natural gas to end-suppliers and heating companies at BGN 63.72/MWh.

In its statement to the EWRC, Bulgargaz said that it had held tenders for the supply of liquefied natural gas at the terminal in Alexandroupolis, Greece, to meet customer demand for the 2024/2025 year. Based on these tenders, the company has selected Total as the supplier for October, November, and December 2024. Additional quantities of natural gas are provided under a contract with Azerbaijan.

For November, Bulgargaz has also envisaged production from the Chiren underground gas storage facility.
