site.btaBulgaria, Spain Observe Largest Annual Increase in Production in Construction in EU

Bulgaria and Spain observed the largest annual increase in production in construction (both +2.5%) in the European Union in July 2024, compared with July 2023, according to data published by the European statistics agency Eurostat on Wednesday. Czechia (+2.0%) and Portugal (+1.7%) recorded third and fourth highest increase respectively. 

Among Member States for which data are available, the largest annual decreases in production in construction were recorded in Slovenia (-12.0%), the Netherlands (-7.8%) and Sweden (-7.5%).

Compared with the previous month, the production in construction in Bulgaria decreased by 0,1% in July.

In the EU, it decreased by 2.4% on an annual basis. The production in construction of buildings decreased by 0.2%, production in construction for civil engineering decreased by 0.7% and the production for specialized construction activities increased by 0.2%.
