Former LB Bulgaricum Director Reacts to Successor's Accusation of Company Having Been Pushed Towards Bankruptcy

Vladimir Rusev, former executive director of the State-owned yogurt and dairy products company LB Bulgaricum, Thursday sent a letter to BTA refuting the claims of his successor, Ivaylo Lilov, made on December 20. Back then, Lilov said in a BTA interview that the company had been deliberately pushed towards bankruptcy by the previous management, whose actions had caused millions in damages. In Lilov's words, LB Bulgaricum has suffered financial damage due to contracts with retail chains that have caused monthly losses of hundreds of thousands of leva.

The company's new management took over in October 2023. According to Lilov, the infliction of damage to the company started in late February and early March 2023.

In his letter, former LB Bulgaricum executive director Rusev asks why, if Lilov's claims are true, did all employees receive Christmas bonuses to their salaries. Under the collective bargaining agreement, Christmas bonuses are paid only when there are good financial results.

Rusev refutes Lilov's claims that "during the same period of time, the same products have been sold at different prices to different retail chains (some retail chains have bought those products at prices 30 to 40% lower than market prices)" and that "the system the company used was not configured in a way that reflects all costs". Rusev argues that the information provided by Lilov to BTA misleads the society. The ERP system SAP used by the company was incorporated in 2017, so it was configured in a way requested by LB Bulgaricum's management at the time.
