site.btaSofia Hosts Fifteenth Paper Art Fest in June 2025

The fifteenth edition of the Sofia Paper Art Fest will open at the National Palace of Culture, organizers said here on Friday. The event will run from June 3, 2025, to June 15, 2025.
The motto Spirit and Matter reflects both the spiritual and material aspects of modern life in Europe and Bulgaria during a challenging historical period.
The festival is once again organized by the Amateras Foundation in ongoing partnership with the National Palace of Culture. A large installation, originally designed for the West Foyer in 2018, will be restored for this year’s event to reflect the new theme. After the festival, the installation will be exhibited in Japan and China as part of the forum’s international program.
The two exhibitions from the annual Amateras competition present 131 works by 71 artists from 21 countries, including Bulgaria, Germany, Japan, China, Korea, Portugal, Poland, France, Sweden, and the USA. The main and nominated pieces are shown in the West Foyer, while the smaller works are displayed in the Marble Foyer. The exhibitions feature installations, objects, and sculptures that explore ecological balance and the responsible use of artificial intelligence for the benefit of people.
An international jury will select the winners of the main Amateras Prize, along with awards for Bulgarian artists and young Bulgarian artists. The Ministry of Culture, Sofia Municipality, the National Palace of Culture, and UniCredit Bulbank will support the awards. The winners will have the opportunity to present solo exhibitions during the 2026 Sofia Paper Art Fest.
