Long Jumper Mitkova Secures Second Place at Rovereto Meeting

Plamena Mitkova placed second Monday in the women's long jump at the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meeting in Rovereto, Italy.

Mitkova recorded 6.69 m with her third attempt, finishing just one centimetre behind her season best.

The winner was Milica Gardasevic of Serbia, champion at the 2023 Krakow European Games, who managed 6.72 m on her sixth and final jump.

Third place went to Quanesha Burks of the USA with 6.58 m.

In the men's high jump, Tihomir Ivanov of Bulgaria finished ninth out of ten with a clearance of 2.16 m, after three failed attempts at 2.20 m.

The event was won by former world and European under-20 champion Yonathan Kapitolnik of Israel, who cleared 2.26 m. Second place was shared by Marco Fassinotti of Italy and Yual Reath of Australia, both at 2.23 m.
