Europe Day will be celebrated with a three-dimensional video mapping show "Your Voice" on the facade of the National Gallery in central Sofia at 9 pm on May 9, the European Parliament announced on Tuesday. The show is part of the third edition of the LUNAR Festival of Lights. The organizer of the performance "Your Voice" is the Bureau of the European Parliament in partnership with the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria. Access to the show is free. There will be alternate projections in Bulgarian and English, which will last until midnight.
Bulgaria will mark the 20th anniversary of the EU enlargement in 2004 with a concert, entitled "20 Years Together", organized jointly with the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, the Sofia Municipality and the embassies of Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia. On May 9 in the Boris’ Garden in Sofia everyone will have the opportunity to try local food and drinks from EU Member States and enjoy music and dances from different parts of Europe.
The concert "20 Years Together" will start at 5.30 pm. The children's choir Pip-Pam will perform the anthem of Bulgaria and the anthem of the European Union, and among the performers will also be: ensemble Bulgare, ensemble Falmis with performances from Poland and Hungary, ensemble Dopravar with dances from Slovakia, Agathangelos with melodies from Cyprus, Lucie Redlova from the Czech Republic, performers from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, Sofia jazz formation.
The performance "Your Voice" is part of the third edition of the LUNAR Festival of Lights, which will be held from May 9 to 12 and will show a total of 22 light works by over 20 artists from around the world. Nine videos and three projections on buildings, an immersive experience, a laser show and a workshop for painting with light can be seen on the facades of landmark metropolitan buildings and in parks along a 4.5-kilometer route. All works can be visited for free, and the lights will be on between 9 pm and midnight on each of the four evenings of the festival.
