Undergraduate and PhD students at the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (ULSIT) in Sofia co-organized the 32nd edition of BOBCATSSS, an annual symposium in the field of library and information science, between January 23 and 25. The event with main theme Information Profession and Sustainable Development was held in a hybrid format hosted by the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and in collaboration with Sao Paulo State University, Brazil, ULSIT reported. Participants from 20 countries took part in the forum.

Prof. Tania Todorova, head of the ULSIT Department of Library Science, was honoured at the closing ceremony with the annual 2023 Bobcat of the Year title awarded by the BOBCATSSS Association (formerly EUCLID, the European Association for Library and Information Education and Research).

Prof. Serap Kurbanoglu, who announced the award, highlighted Todorova's contribution to the development of European library and information education and research (especially on the issue of copyright literacy for professionals from library and information and other cultural institutions) and to strengthening the BOBCATSSS community as Chair in the period January 2021 - January 2023.
