National Opera Director Receives Honorary Badge for Spiritual Leadership

National Opera and Ballet Director Plamen Kartalov is this year's recipient of the Stefan Stambolov Badge of Honour for leadership in spirituality. The award ceremony took place during the 15th Scientific Conference on Leadership titled "Spirituality and Leadership. Culture of Leadership" held at the National Library in Sofia Tuesday.

In his acceptance speech, Kartalov said he is honored to receive this recognition. He expressed gratitude for the appreciation of the efforts of his team and himself to contribute to the national identity and culture at home and abroad. "This inspires me to be one of the leaders and true pillars of this mission of ours," he added.

Vice President Iliana Iotova spoke about Kartalov and his work, calling him "a man who in these difficult years managed to build stone by stone, straw by straw, an incredible spiritual garden of values, traditions, art, spirituality and beauty." Renowned sculptor Vezhdi Rashidov also praised Kartalov's work.
