Indian Ambassador to Bulgaria Sanjay Rana visited the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) here on Friday, BAS reported. The diplomat extended an invitation to representatives from BAS to participate in the 2024 World Ocean Science Congress in Chennai, India, from February 27 to 29.

The theme of the forum, organized by the National Institute of Ocean Technology under India's Ministry of Earth Sciences, will be Sustainable Utilization of Oceans in Blue Economy.

During their meeting, BAS President Julian Revalski and Rana agreed to collaborate to strengthen and build linkages between BAS and research organizations in India. They explored the possibility of BAS scientists participating in programmes of the Indian Institute of Science scheduled to launch in 2024.
