site.bta10th Chestnut Festival to Be Unveiled in Southwestern Village of Kolarovo

The 10th Chestnut Festival will be officially unveiled at the southwestern village of Kolarovo on October 13. The two-day event will feature folklore singing and dancing, games, and a fair with local dishes and craftworks, the Belasitsa Nature Park said. 

On October 13, an international conference on local communities and protected areas will be held. It will be accompanied by a bazaar of typical local products.

On October 14, the community centre in the southwestern village of Gabrene will showcase local crafts and traditions. Visitors will also be able to participate in a group walk in Belasitsa Nature Park. Later in the day, the Yankish Guest House will present local culinary traditions and recipes. 

The festival is organized by the Executive Forests Agency's Belasitsa Nature Park Directorate with the financial support of Southwest State Enterprise and Petrich Municipality, in partnership with the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation, Pirin Tourism Forum, and Slow Food in Bulgaria movement, and with the assistance of the Petrich History Museum. Community secretaries, local residents, and mayors have taken active participation in the Chestnut Festival's organization, Belasitsa Nature Park said.
