site.btaGERB and MRF-New Beginning Reaffirm Commitment to Full Governance Mandate

GERB and the MRF-New Beginning confirmed their commitment to upholding the agreed legislative and governance programme aimed at ensuring stability and continuity in the interest of citizens and the state, the two formations said in a joint statement published on their Facebook profiles on Wednesday.

They declared support for a full governing mandate and the fulfilment of commitments related to Bulgaria’s Euro-Atlantic orientation.

MRF-New Beginning will continue to support the mandate holder and its partners in government throughout the full term of office. The two parliamentary groups agreed not to alter the current form of support, the statement further said.

MRF-New Beginning also reaffirmed its refusal to participate in the executive branch or in the leadership of parliamentary committees.

At a meeting of the Joint Governance Council on Tuesday, GERB and There Is Such a People raised the issue of a rotating chairmanship of the National Assembly. Earlier this week, the leader of MRF-New Beginning, Delyan Peevski, reiterated his position of full support for the government during a conversation with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.
