Mira Raycheva-Shekerdzhieva is Bulgaria's candidate for half-time judge at the United Nations Dispute Tribunal (UNDT) for the 2026-2033 period, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.  The elections for the position will be held on November 17 during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Pavlov officially presented the candidacy to the diplomatic corps in Sofia on October 15.

In his speech, Deputy Minister Pavlov highlighted the high professionalism and rich experience of Judge Raycheva-Shekerdzhieva, who has been a judge at the Bulgarian Supreme Administrative Court since 2010 and has 28 years of experience in the judicial system of Bulgaria. He noted that her candidacy was the result of a highly competitive selection process involving 391 candidates (181 women) from 79 countries from the five UN regional groups.

Deputy Minister Pavlov asked the heads of the embassies of the UN Member States in Sofia and their representatives to support the Bulgarian candidate, emphasizing that her professional qualities and experience will contribute to the effective functioning of the UNDT and thus to maintaining the authority of the United Nations among its staff and Member States.
