A bill proposed by There Is Such a People (TISP) to amend the Penal Code - introducing criminal penalties for distributing materials containing information about a person's private life without their consent, has been withdrawn, the party's press centre said on Monday.

Last week, the parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs supported the bill at first reading, with 14 MPs voting in favor, 4 against, and 1 abstaining.

However, the proposed changes will now be pulled back, as GERB leader Boyko Borissov said in the corridors of parliament on Friday.

“I spoke with Slavi Trifonov [the leader of TISP] in the morning, and he told me they would withdraw it because there are provisions in it that neither he nor we can accept,” Borissov said.
