site.btaFamilies Affected by Floods Can Receive Up to BGN 7,500 in Financial Aid

Social Policy Minister Borislav Gutsanov said Wednesday that the Council of Ministers has approved financial aid for those affected by the floods in the country. Speaking at a briefing, he added that BGN 3,000 will be provided as additional support for affected families.

"Their home must be legally built and must be the only home in which they live. In addition to these BGN 3,000, there is another BGN 1,914, meaning that the total assistance amounts to nearly BGN 5,000. An additional BGN 2,500 can be requested for damaged household items - televisions, washing machines, stoves, etc. The assistance that an affected family can receive can reach up to BGN 7,500. Everything will be covered by the budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy," the Minister explained.

Gutsanov pointed out that the amounts are not large, but the Ministry cannot afford more.
