Assen Vassilev was elected Chairman of Continue the Change (CC) during the party's general assembly in Sofia on Sunday, the CC press office said.
The former finance minister was elected CC leader by a unanimous vote of 289 in favour.
After the vote, Vassilev thanked for the trust. "If there is one thing I have learned in this life, it is that you can't go far alone. It takes a team."
