site.btaVice President Iotova to Open Scientific Forum on Three Historical Anniversaries

Vice President Iliana Yotova will open a scientific forum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) on Wednesday, the head of State's press secretariat reported. The event is dedicated to the 1160th anniversary of the conversion to Christianity of the Bulgarian people, the 1170th anniversary of the creation of the Glagolitic script, and the 1140th death anniversary of St Methodius. 

The event is organized by the St Cyril and St Methodius International Foundation, the Bulgarian Patriarchate, BAS, the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, and the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria.

The scientific forum is part of a series of events dedicated to memorable anniversaries for Bulgaria. The Vice President is the patron of the celebrations of the 1170th anniversary of the creation of the Glagolitic script, the first Slavic alphabet, by St St Cyril and Methodius.
