The opposition Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) call on Regional Development Minister Ivan Ivanov to immediately dismiss Road Infrastructure Agency’s (RIA) Management Board Chair Yordan Valchev, CC-DB MP Andrey Tsekov told journalists in Parliament on Wednesday. 
 
The reasons for this request are the dissemination of false, misleading information about the state of the national road I-3 in the section between the villages of Telish and Radomirtsi, in which on March 31 the life of a Bulgarian child was lost, the MP said.

According to him, as early as 2022, the RIA had identified that this road section was in a poor condition and needed major repairs. Later, a public tender was issued for the preparation of a technical project for the repair of the road, and a contract was signed in 2023. Tsekov explained that in addition, the State Road Safety Agency has issued a report stating that the section is a high risk for traffic accidents.
