site.btaMeeting on Road Safety to Be Held at Council of Ministers

A meeting on road safety will be held at the Council of Ministers, the government press service said on Tuesday. The meeting has been convened by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and will start at 2:00 p.m. with the participation of ministers, representatives of relevant authorities and NGOs.

Activities on road safety in organizational, investment and control aspects will be discussed. Emphasis will also be placed on critical sections of the country's road network and on measures for additional monitoring. 

A protest was held in Sofia yesterday against “ murder ” on the road, a week after a car crash killed 12-year-old Siana.

The Ministry of Justice published for public consultation legislative measures against the slow justice for severe road accidents.

Interior Minister Daniel Mitov announced that the Interior Ministry will propose to the government a set of measures to improve road safety.
