The Vazrazhdane party is considering initiating a vote of no confidence against the Government over the death of a Bulgarian national in Gaza, party leader Kostadin Kostadinov told journalists here on Saturday.

"The death of Captain Marin Marinov, who was part of the UN mission, is a disgraceful act, and the Bulgarian Government’s failure to immediately condemn this killing—carried out by the Israeli army—is shameful. This alone justifies a vote of no confidence, as the disgrace is only deepening," Kostadinov stated.

According to him, on Friday Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev declared that condemning Israel’s actions would harm Bulgaria’s reputation. "For me, this is the lowest point Bulgarian diplomacy could reach. If we do not condemn killings—especially premeditated ones, as this was a deliberate attack by the Israeli army on a UN facility—there is nothing good to expect for Bulgaria," Kostadinov insisted.

He further added that he sees no action from the Bulgarian State to clarify the circumstances surrounding Captain Marinov's death. "We see that the Bulgarian Government categorically refuses to condemn Israel’s actions, claiming that the situation is still unclear," he said.

When asked whether a no-confidence vote against the government would be sought over Captain Marinov’s death, Kostadinov responded that this is one of the options currently under discussion.

Regarding the recent dissolution of Morality, Unity, Honor’s (MECh) Parliamentary Group, Kostadinov recalled that Vazrazhdane and the six MECh MPs who attended the budget vote were the only ones who supported holding a parliamentary session on Friday.

Kostadin Kostadinov took part in the celebrations marking the holiday of Veliko Tarnovo, which is being observed on Saturday.
