The condition of those injured in the nightclub fire in North Macedonia and receiving treatment in Bulgaria remains critical, the Ministry of Health announced on its Facebook page on Tuesday.
All eight patients hospitalized at Pirogov Emergency Hospital are on mechanical ventilation and remain in intensive care.
According to information from Naval Medical Academy in Varna (on the Black Sea), all three patients being treated are in serious condition. Two are on mechanical ventilation, and one is receiving oxygen through a nasal mask.
The condition of those at St. George University Hospital in Plovdiv (South Central Bulgaria) remains serious but stable, with treatment continuing in the intensive care unit, the ministry added.
A total of 14 victims from the nightclub fire in Kocani, North Macedonia, were transported to Bulgaria for treatment. The fire, which erupted during a concert, claimed 59 lives and left over 150 injured, with some of the victims also sent to Greece, Turkiye, and Serbia for medical care.
Earlier in the day, President Rumen Radev and Vice President Iliana Iotova also extended their condolences, and the government declared March 18 a national day of mourning for victims of the tragic events in Kocani, and the Chair of the National Assembly Nataliya Kiselova offered condolences at the embassy of North Macedonia in Sofia.
