Caretaker e-Government Minister Valentin Mundrov said that his ministry is starting to build a national cyber security architecture in Bulgaria for administrative authorities and public service operators. Mundrov participated in the signing ceremony of the agreements between Bulgarian companies and the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). One of the signed agreements was between Information Services and the US agency, and its subject is improving cyber protection in the public administration.

"The agency will provide technical assistance in building the cyber security architecture and facilitate the adoption of best practices in the field," Mundrov explained, adding that the system will also include a Cyber Defence Centre, responsible for monitoring and responding to cyber incidents. In Mundrov's opinion, this will establish Bulgaria as a reliable partner of NATO and the European Union.

"In today's rapidly evolving technological world, cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important for the protection of data and services in the public sector", Mundrov stressed, saying that despite the many advantages of new technologies, they also bring new threats." We can say that cyber threats are now the new normal and part of our reality. The question is not whether they will happen, but when and how we are prepared for them", he elaborated, stressing that Bulgaria must take the necessary steps to build a more efficient and centralized security system.
