site.btaARF Ready to Support Other Parties' National Assembly Chair Nominees if Not Connected to MRF - New Beginning, Vazrazhdane
Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (ARF) MP Dzhevdet Chakarov said Saturday his party, "the authentic Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF)", is open to talks and would support other political forces' nominees for National Assembly chair if they do not have covert or overt relations with MRF - New Beginning and Vazrazhdane. He attended а National Council of the MRF youth organization.
Chakarov did not comment on whether he would support Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) co-leader Atanas Atanassov for National Assembly chair and pointed out that there is no official information about such proposal yet. He stressed that he welcomed a meeting between GERB and CC-DB, but was adamant that the dialogue and talks should be public "so that everyone can see what is being proposed and in what way. We need to see a programme, priorities, Euro-Atlantic orientation", Chakarov added.
"We need to find a way out of this severe political, unprecedented crisis so that the country's development can be accelerated, the demographic crisis can be overcome, and the Recovery and Resilience Plan can work," the MP continued. He underlined that the Parliament needs to work in order to adopt the anti-corruption laws for the reform of the judiciary, as well as to stop the current procedure for the election of a prosecutor general.
MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk and MPs attended the National Council. At the beginning of the meeting, an address was read out by Ahmed Dogan, in which he said that there should be a significant structural reform in the authentic MRF.
