The project for the tunnel under Shipka should not be partisan, as it belongs to all Bulgarians, said Vazrazhdane top-of-the-list candidate in Gabrovo Daniel Petrov at a meeting with local supporters on Tuesday.

"The project should not continue to be a hostage to the fights between the various mayors, ministers and parties", he said. He noted that each government wants to implement the project because it is of great public interest, while at the same time each government sabotages the next one so that it cannot be implemented by someone else.

Petrov recalled that the leaders of the relevant ruling parties and relevant institutions have repeatedly given encouraging signals to the public that this project, which is very important for the region, will be implemented. He also emphasized that the construction of this project has been expected by businesses and people for many years.
