Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said that the Finance Ministry is ready with a state budget bill for 2025 but will not submit it before the elections on October 27.

"We won't present it until after the elections. If it is presented before then, the temptations in the National Assembly will be very great," he said as he opened a reconstructed border checkpoint at Kalotina, on the border with Serbia.

Asked by journalists what the parameters of next year's state budget would be, Glavchev said, "When it is presented, you will all understand."

Asked whether the budget will contain a deficit below 3%, the Prime Minister said: "We are ready to present such an option. That is also the job of the MPs - whether they will accept such an option".

In his words, the price level in Bulgaria is starting to enter the euro area criterion.

Asked how the preparation for the snap parliamentary elections is going, Glavchev said:"Great. What helps us is that we have experience from the last time. Then, nobody said there was a problem with the elections. This one will be a little more complicated, given the relationships in some parties. However, we have taken measures to run the elections in a normal way, within the Election Code."
