Between 2 and 2.2 million Bulgarians have declare their readiness to cast their votes in the October 27 snap parliamentary elections, according to a poll commissioned by the 24 Chasa daily and conducted by the Trend polling agency. The survey measures Bulgarians’ attitudes at the start of the election campaign.

A total of 1,003 people aged 18 and over were interviewed face to face with tablets between September 17 and 24, 2024.

Seven political entities are sure to enter the next Parliament, with two more close to exceeding the 4% electoral threshold, the survey shows.

According to Trend's findings, GERB-UDF maintains its lead with 24.8%.

The second place is still contested, sociologists point out. Vazrazhdane have seen a slight increase in support since the last parliamentary elections in June. The survey gave it 15.6% support from decided voters, placing it second, followed by Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria with 15.1% and the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms with 8.5%.

The BSP-United Left coalition and There Is Such a People would receive 6.9% each.

The Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning coalition enjoys the support of 5.8% of decided voters.

The Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) Party and Velichie would get 3.5% and 3.4%, respectively.

The poll shows that 3.9% of respondents would choose the “I do not support anyone” option, with this percentage being distributed among all political entities.

Two-thirds of eligible voters agreed with the notion that parties should find the compromises needed to form a regular government after the elections, while 19% were of the opinion that if these compromises are too big, it would be better to hold elections again.

In September, there were no major changes in people’s assessments of the performance of the main institutions in this country. Parliament continues to receive low approval ratings, with only 12% of all respondents giving its work a positive assessment, while 80% giving it a negative assessment.

Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev's second cabinet enjoys 19% approval with 70% disapproval. President Rumen Radev has an approval rating of 38% and a disapproval rating of 49%, the Trend polling agency said.
