site.btaUPDATED Fire Raging Near Kavatsite Camping Site on Sea Coast

A fire is burning in the vinity of the Kavatsi camping site near Sozopol (on the Black Sea). The fire started from the Kavatsi Hotel. At the moment there are eight fire trucks and more than 20 firefighters on the scene, reported the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Burgas.

The fire is burning near a large supermarket. Staff and visitors have been evacuated.

The situation is extremely complicated due to high temperatures, dry grass and bushes, combined with wind gusts. Roads have been closed because of the fire.

The fire in has been localized. The roofs of several uninhabited buildings have burned. Guests of a hotel adjacent to the original outbreak were evacuated, Sozopol Mayor Tihomir Yanakiev told journalists.
