site.btaGroup of 38 Illegal Migrants Intercepted near Montana

A group of 38 illegal migrants, transported in a van, was found on the ring road near Montana, the District Prosecutor's Office said. The migrants have been detained. 

The foreigners are from Syria and Egypt. Once the identity of each of them is clarified, they will be sent to a refugee accommodation centre in the country. 

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case. The work is continuing under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Montana.

The Montana Police Directorate told BTA that illegal migrants have been apprehended on several occasions last year, in some cases the smugglers who transported them were also detained, while in other cases they managed to escape.
