The Cabinet extended the deadline for submitting proposals to amend the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and the REPowerEU chapter until the end of September 2024, the government information service said here on Wednesday.
The extension was prompted by objective circumstances hindering the implementation of the pre-set parameters. At this stage, changes are proposed for 32 investments and 14 reforms, with two new investments planned in Component 4 Low-Carbon Economy and Component 5 Biodiversity. Active discussions and meetings with the European Commission on the proposals took place in August and early September 2024 at both technical and political levels.
Considering the substantial investments and reforms in the Energy sector under Component 4 Low-Carbon Economy, of the NRRP and the REPowerEU chapter, it is essential to inform stakeholders, including the National Assembly. The aim is to ensure transparency and predictability regarding Bulgaria's negotiating position with the EU.
