He has served as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2021-2023); Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs (May - June 2023); Ambassador to Spain (2017-2021); Director of the Protocol Directorate at the Administration of the President of Bulgaria (2012-2016); Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy (2009-2012); Director of the State Protocol Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2007-2009); First Secretary at the Permanent Representation of Bulgaria to NATO in Brussels, Belgium (2003-2007); Chief Expert at the NATO Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2001-2003); Attaché (Political Affairs and Press) at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in London, UK (1998-2001); Expert at the European Countries Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1995-1998).
