The fire that is burning on the border with North Macedonia near Bulgaria is not in danger of entering this country, but the fire in the Slavyanka Mountain on the Bulgarian-Greek border flared up on Sunday night and has entered Bulgarian, the South-Western State Enterprise (SWSE) said.

They point out that the fire on the border with North Macedonia is monitored by their employees and so far there is no danger of its spreading to Bulgarian territory.

The fire on the Bulgarian-Greek border in the Slavyanka Mountain briefly flared up again Sunday night and entered Bulgaria, but was promptly contained.

A total of 147 fires have been extinguished over the past twenty-four hours, according to a report on the website of the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection. No people were killed or injured in the fires. There were 29 fires with direct material damage. Some of them occurred in residential buildings, temporary structures, vehicles, etc. There were 118 fires without material damage, of which 69 occurred in dry grass, forest litter and bushes; two in stubble; 45 in waste, etc.
