The road section between the southern towns of Harmanli and Lyubimets (Haskovo Region) is temporarily closed for traffic due to a wildfire and heavy smoke in the area, the Road Infrastructure Agency said on Thursday. The flames are dangerously close to a residential area, a car park and a petrol station, the Regional Administration in Haskovo said.

The wildfire between Harmanli and Lyubimets broke out after less than а day after the huge wildfire in the neighbouring municipality of Svilengrad was contained. It burned tens of thousands of hectares of forest and agricultural land, destroyed a few houses and injured two people.
